Jasprit Bumrah to play Oval Test? Narayan Jagdeeshan added into the squad

After the historic draw of India vs England in the 4th Manchester Test, it’s time for preparation of the fifth test starting from 31st July, Thursday at Kennington Oval, London. India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir dropped a bombshell in the post match press-conference, he said All Indian Pacers are fit and ready for the 5th Test.

With only three days to go for the 5th Test Match at Oval, there were sharp worry about India risking Jasprit Bumrah, especially after his pre-series aggreement about workload management.

There’s a chance of Jasprit Bumrah playing the last and final test because he bowled only in 1st innings and rested for the whole 4th and 5th day at old Trafford test.

India’s Head Coach Gautam Gambhir Statement:

“All the fast bowlers are fit. There are no injury concerns,” Gambhir said after India’s famous draw in Manchester.

Would Bumrah play? Gambhir has kept tight-lipped over that conversation.

“We haven’t had any conversation around the combination for the last Test,” Gambhir replied. “No decision has been made on whether Jasprit Bumrah will play or not. Ultimately, whoever plays, they will try and do the job for the country.”

India’s heroic efforts in the 4th Test, kept the Anderson-Tendulkar Series alive, India can still aim to close the series into a draw.

Gambhir praised the team and added that the heroic efforts in Manchester give India a lot of confidence heading into the fifth Test.

“When you are put under pressure, and you end up batting five sessions, I think that’s great character. Anything that you do in these conditions, when you are put under pressure and you come out of those pressure moments, it is always a great feeling, and it just ends up giving a lot of confidence in the dressing room as well.

“And I’m sure going into The Oval, we will be high on confidence, but we can’t take anything for granted. I think it’s going to be a new game, it’s going to be against a strong England side, and we absolutely will be up for it.”

Narayan Jagdeeshan inclusion for Pant:

The Coimbatore borned Tamilnadu wicketkeeper batsman “Narayan Jagdeeshan” has been added into the Squad as Rishabh Pant replacement who fractured his foot in the 4th Test.

There were talks of Ishan Kishan inclusion as he is already in UK playing counties but he denies as he’s also suffering from a knee injury.

Will Jagdeeshan play in the 5th Test?

The Tamilnadu cricketer has been playing good in the domestic circle scoring 1500+ runs at an average of 68.67 in the last two seasons. But him playing straight into the 11 is a huge ask, with Dhruv Jurel also there in the squad for a longer period of time.

India’s updated squad for fifth Test:

Shubman Gill (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav, Anshul Kamboj, Arshdeep Singh, N Jagadeesan (WK)
